Brandon Hutton Talks Wisconsin Offer

De La Salle 2015 small forward Brandon Hutton destroyed the July evaluation period.  He exploded at the Chicago Summer Challenge with his play for the Illinois Stars 16U and opened up a lot college coaches eyes to what he can bring to a team.

The strong and athletic wing plays with a tremendous motor and is an unbelievable defender.  During the summer he showed growth in his offensive game particularly his ball handling and jump shot.  This elevated him into potential high major status.

Saturday he picked up his first high major offer from Wisconsin on an unofficial visit to Madison.

“I got a tour around the campus and the athletic facility by assistant coach Greg Gard.  Then me and my mother went to get something to eat around the campus.  Right after I got through eating Coach Gard told us that the head coach would like to talk to me and my mother.  He pulled us in his office and told me that I remind him of an old player of his.  He said I have similarities to Alando Tucker.  Then he told me that I was a hard worker and I’m very versatile with my game.  So he would like to give me an offer.”

What impressed him about the Badgers on his visit over the weekend?

“The simple fact that everyone I ran across was genuine and down to earth.  Coach Ryan was really a great guy and he’s a veteran of the game.  So he seemed to be a good teacher to his players.”
