Mott Community College (MI) star Devin Foster has given a verbal commitment to play his college basketball for head coach Tracy Dildy and Chicago State University.
Foster, a 6'4 guard, starred as a prep at Chicago Curie where he ranked among the top 2012 prospects in the state of Illinois.
Landing Foster is a recruiting coup for fast-rising Chicago State program.
We caught up with Foster who broke down his decision to commit to Chicago State.
Why did you feel Chicago State was the best decision for you?
"Basically me and my mother have been talking a lot lately about what I should do about playing basketball at the next level. Also, I had a good talk with Coach two days ago. He was telling me about everything that I'm going to to be a leader and wants me to lead the team to make the tournament. The reason I choose Chicago State because it's the best opportunity to play there and show the city where I'm at and bring family and friends to watch me play."
What other schools did you consider?
"I also considered North Carolina Central and Iona."
What are your expectations for this season?
"We are 1-0 right now and also the #2 team in the nation. I'm playing the point and shooting guard I love to get my team open, to score, and just win games. I really want to showcase myself and who I'm and where I'm from. Also, I want to be a top 50 players in the nation."
