Morgan Park, Althoff Set For Showdown

Two-time defending IHSA Class 3A state champion Chicago Morgan Park will square off against Belleville Althoff on Friday in a high-powered state semifinal match-up.

Althoff is led by super-sophomore Jordan Goodwin, a strong-framed and high-scoring wing, who ranks among the top prospects in his class. 6'7 junior Brendon Gooch bring added size, scoring and rebounding. Junior Tarkus Ferguson headlines the backcourt for a team loaded with talent.

Marcus LoVett continues to lead Morgan Park with Charlie Moore also capable of putting up big offensive numbers. 6'8 Alonzo Chatman is a factor inside defensively.

A terrific match-up between teams that are both deep with future Division I basketball talent. Both teams will also return enough firepower for return trips next year with Althoff being a strong preseason #1 possibility next year.

The game is scheduled for a 12:15 p.m. tip-off at Carver Arena in Peoria.
