Northwestern Officially Adds van Zegeren

Head coach Chris Collins and Northwestern have now officially announced the addition of Virginia Tech transfer Joey van Zegren.

A 6'10 forward, van Zegren is a native of the Netherlands. He averaged 9.8 points and a team-high 5.3 rebounds per contest last year at Virginia Tech ahead of seeing his season end in January for a violation of team rules.

Van Zegren is eligible to play out his final year of eligibility this coming season.

Armon Gates was the lead recruiter for van Zegren.

Northwestern Lands Isiah Brown

Head coach Chris Collins and Northwestern have added Lakeside High School (WA) standout Isiah Brown to their 2016 recruiting class.

Brown, a 6'2 guard, competes with Team Bradley NW Panthers on the Adidas Gauntlet Circuit. Brown is averaging 20.5 points and 2.9 assists per contest in Gauntlet play.

Brown joins 6'9 Rapolas Ivanauskas (Barrington) in Northwestern's 2016 recruiting class.

Brown committed while on an official visit to Northwestern.

DePaul Hires Bryan Tibaldi As New DOBO

Head coach Dave Leitao and DePaul University have named Bryan Tibaldi the new director of basketball operations for the basketball team.

Tibaldi is a native of Traverse City, Michigan. He worked with Leitao from 2012-14 when they were both at Missouri. Tibaldi started as video coordinator at Missouri ahead of moving up to director of operations.

Tibaldi previously spent two years working for the Chicago Bulls, and was a graduate assistant at Michigan State from 2007-09.

Barret Benson Adds USC Offer

Class of 2016 Hinsdale South standout Barret Benson of the Illinois Wolves has now added a scholarship offer from USC to his vast collection.

Benson, a 6'10 center, currently rates as the #2 overall prospect in the Illinois class of 2016. He recently added a Vanderbilt offer to a vast collection that also includes Illinois, Indiana, Purdue and Kansas State to name a few.

Benson is averaging 6.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest for the Wolves in the Under Armour Association.

Benson competed at the Pangos All-American Camp this past weekend and was selected to the Cream of the Crop All-Star Game.

Benson and the Illinois Wolves will be in action at the Chicago Summer Challenge July 10-12.
