SIU Adds 7'1 Deng Leek To 2014 Class

Head coach Barry Hinson and Southern Illinois University have now added junior college standout Deng Lenk of Jacksonville College (FL) to their 2014 recruiting class.

Leek, a 7'1 center, will add depth in the paint with his size. He originally was a Western Kentucky recruit as a prep ahead of opting for the junior college ranks.

Leek is added to an SIU recruiting class that also includes Armon Fletcher (Edwardsville, IL), Deion Lavender (Alton, IL), Chaz Glotta (O'Fallon, MO), Jordan Caroline (Champaign, IL) and Austin Weiher (Seattle, WA).

"Baby KD" Porter, Antoine Pittman In Hoops 247 All-American Combine

Michael "Baby KD" Porter (Columbia, MO) and Antoine Pittman (Rockford, IL) are both confirmed in the NCAA Certified Hoops 247 All-American Combine & Showcase joining a long and distinguished field of participants.

Porter, a 6'8 shooting guard, is one of the truly elite 2017 prospects in the country.  Some believe he could be the top 2017 prospect in the country.  Pittman, a 6'2 guard, ranks among the top 2015 prospects in the state of Illinois and holds multiple Division I scholarship offers.

The event will take place on Thursday, July 10 at Riverside-Brookfield High School and will feature some of the finest basketball talent in the country.

The event takes place ahead of the NCAA Certified Chicago Summer Challenge which runs July 11-13.

Last year, the Hoops 247 All-American Combine featured some of the top basketball talent in the country during live in front of Division I coaches during the July Evaluation Period! 
 
This year, the event is expected to be even stronger with nearly 100 prospects already guaranteed a slot from a series of regional combines with top talent confirmed in.
 
A limited number of At-Large slots are available for the event on a first-come, first-served basis.  All prospects in the 2015, 2016 and 2017 recruiting classes are eligible for the limited number of At-Large slots.
 
All participants will go through Combine-Style Testing, Stations and Drills in addition to game play.  Each participant will play in three running clock games at the event in front of college coaches.

Former H-F Star Tim Williams Sets Visits

Former Homewood-Flossmoor star Tim Williams, who is transferring from Samford, has visits set at New Mexico and Vanderbilt, and has Dayton and Marquette both in the mix according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

Williams, a 6'7 forward, averaged 17.6 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest this past season as a sophomore at Samford.

Williams will visit New Mexico on June 16-17 and Vanderbilt on June 18-20.

Williams, who was a star quarterback in high school, will have two years of playing eligibility remaining after sitting out 2014-15 per NCAA transfer rules.

Watson, Stumpe, Tilmon All In Hoops 247 All-American Combine

Glynn Watson (St. Joseph), Trevor Stumpe (Plainfield North) and Jeremiah Tilmon (East St. Louis) have now been confirmed into the NCAA Certified Hoops 247 All-American Combine & Showcase.

Watson ranks among the top point guard prospects in the country.  Stumpe is among the top shooter's in the state of Illinois.  Tilmon is the #1-ranked class of 2017 prospect in the state of Illinois.

Toni Kukoc Camp Set For June 23-27

The Bulls/Sox Academy announced today that it will host a Toni Kukoc Basketball Camp for boys and girls ages 6 to 17 on June 23-27 at the Bulls/Sox Academy in Lisle.
 
Toni Kukoc and the Academy coaches have developed a five-day camp curriculum focused on all the fundamental basketball skills: shooting, ball handling, defense, free throws, and footwork.  Kukoc will work directly with the players teaching his techniques at each of the five days.

The camp will run from 9:00am -12:00am for six to ten year old athletes, followed by a session for the eleven to seventeen year olds from 1:00pm - 4:00pm. All participants will have the opportunity to receive an autograph and photo from the legendary Bulls forward.

The cost of this opportunity of a lifetime is only $350.00 per athlete.
