Simeon is one game away from heading back to Peoria in their quest for a fourth consecutive state championship. Standing in their way will be New Trier on Tuesday night.
The Wolverines are coming off their biggest win of the season as they defeated Whitney Young to win the Argo Sectional. Duke commit Jabari Parker played his best game of the year as he went for 29 points and 13 rebounds in the victory. Illinois commits Kendrick Nunn and Jaylon Tate will be key in the backcourt matching up with New Trier’s guards.
New Trier is led by Princeton commit Steven Cook. The forward is a well-rounded player that does everything his team needs him to do in order to win. He has a great feel for the game and can really score. Their junior point guard Jordan Thomas will be the one running the offense and it will be important that he handles the defensive pressure from Simeon.
This one will tip-off at 7:30 at Chicago State University.
