Robby Dosier Talks Austin Peay Visit

Marion High School 2015 combo guard Robby Dosier is a prospect that emerged on the radar during the spring with his play for the Illinois Bears 16U.  Dosier is a tough guard that plays with confidence and can beat a defense with both his ability to score and set his teammates up.  This past weekend he attended Austin Peay’s elite camp.  He spoke with us about how it went.

“At the camp I played really well and shot the ball really well.  After the camp they showed me their facilities and they want me to come back to some games.”

The rising junior discussed what stood out about their program?

“The coaches were great.  They just had a winning attitude with a lot of history at the school.”

What did the coaches at Austin Peay like about Dosier’s game?

“They knew I could shoot it, but they said they didn’t know I could pass it like I could and finish at the rim as I was doing.”

Dosier has decided to transfer from Carbondale to Marion for his junior year.  He broke down how it is going with his new team during June.

“It is going great.  I love Coach Hawkins and him being a shooter like me.  We have been to Southern Indiana and head down to Memphis this week.  It is going great.  I love my team.”

Some of the other schools that have shown interest in him include SIU-Carbondale, Missouri State, Murray State, Oakland, Rice, and South Dakota State.  The guard and his Illinois Bears will kick off their July schedule at the Chicago Summer Challenge at Riverside Brookfield High School July 12-14.
