Stagg 2014 shooting guard Max Strus is a prospect that continues to progress. The rising senior had a very good summer with the Windy City Magic despite playing with a wrist injury through most of it. He is a smooth wing that is a plus shooter from the perimeter. The senior is good athletically and plays with a very high basketball IQ. Strus has great intangibles and is a good passer for an off guard. We caught up with him to see how he feels his game has progressed since the high school season ended.
“I have gotten better since last year. I am starting to grow into my body. It is good to start getting recognized.”
The 6’3” guard discussed what the strengths are in his game.
“I can knock down the open jumper. I like to shoot threes. I can get to the rim and am athletic. I like put backs, guys have to box me out.”
His only offer currently is from Lewis. Schools that he is in contact with include Southern Indiana, Eastern Kentucky, UIC, Lindenwood, and Hillsdale. This could be a player that will continue to gain more college attention as the process progresses throughout the fall and into the high school season. What is he looking for in a school?
“What I am going into. Who is graduating. If I can play right away. Good coaching staff and like the campus. Good academics.”
