Hillsboro High School 2015 power forward Dylan Miller had a great month of July for the Peoria Irish 16U. The athletic four man is mobile around the hoop. He displayed a nice back to the basket game that included quick moves and finishes in the paint. Miller didn’t take a ton of shots, but shot a very high percentage. His face up game including a mid-range jumper also shows potential.
Defensively he has shown improvement as a rebounder and post defender. He did a good job protecting the rim and swatting shots in July. Miller is a prospect that is just scratching the surface of his potential.
Tuesday, Miller along with his Irish 16U teammates Obediah Church and Christian Williams visited SIU-Edwardsville. Miller came away from the trip with his first offer courtesy of the Cougars.
“We were sitting in the cafeteria and Obi’s mom asked a question. The head coach said about how Obi and Christian already have received offers and are offering me one. I was very excited and still am!”
Miller discussed what they did on their unofficial visit.
“We went around and looked at all the new improvements to the school and looked in a couple classrooms to see the average size of a class. We went in the building where I will be studying my major and looked around the locker room. Watched two videos in the locker room.”
The rising junior chatted about what impressed him about SIU-Edwardsville’s program.
“I was very impressed by the staff’s involvement in the student athletes. How much they make sure they keep up with their grades and the relationship they have with their players. It seems like a great college for me.”
Miller broke down how his July went with the Peoria Irish on the circuit.
