Zion Benton wing Milik Yarbrough is the most prolific scorer in the state. He puts up monster numbers on the regular with his physical game and lethal scoring mentality. Yarbough is among the best wing prospects remaining in the state of Illinois.
We caught up with the senior who recently took an official visit to Auburn to see how his trip to the SEC program went.
“It was amazing. They have a great campus. A lot of new stuff. What impressed me was that they are on the rise right now and after this year they are trying to make something happen. So they are trying to get me to play the two so I can create for others and also score.”
What stood out about the coaching staff?
“They are very loyal and want the best for me and want to put me in a spot to get me in the league.”
The talented senior is in the process of setting up official visits to Minnesota and Tulsa as well as hearing from other programs.
Yarbrough ran on the circuit with Indiana Elite where he was their go to playmaker. He spoke about what he has been focusing on since July in his game.
“I have been working on my body a lot. I’ve got bigger. I have been working on my ball-handling a lot because I’ll be playing the two this year. I have been working on my pull-up. Trying not to be so aggressive.”
He is expecting a big year at Zion Benton for his team. What are his goals?
“State. That’s all we’re worried about. Our starting lineup is going to be Hugh Admiral Schofield who is going to be the key at 6’5” playing the three. He’s going to be a problem. Jerome at 6’6” and me at 6’6” playing the two. The only thing on our mind is state. We’re playing every game like it’s our last.”
