With a loaded squad for Fenwick this year they have talent across the board at different ages and positions. On the interior they will be anchored by the 6'8 Dan Dwyer. The 2014 prospect continues to fly under the radar despite being one of the top power forwards remaining on the board.
Dwyer is a pick and pop four man that is a good shooter from the perimeter. He has also made strides in his game scoring on the block and even showed he could put it on the floor a little. The senior is a solid rebounder that runs the floor well in transition.
We spoke with Dwyer about how his summer went on the circuit with Illinois Old School.
“With Old School Scott Lindsey was our breakout. We had a lot of talented guys. Miki was great. I thought our starting five got really close over the summer.”
What is going on with recruiting?
“Right now I have some Division I schools interested. No offers. I had Holy Cross come in. I have Penn coming in. I am looking at the high academic D3’s in the UAA. I recently went to Washington University (St. Louis).”
We asked him if there were any leaders at this stage.
“I went up to Wash U and really liked it up there. My goal is to make it to the Patriot League or the Ivy League. That is my dream.”
Schools in those conferences definitely need to take a look at this power forward as he has skills that translate well.
