In a two horse battle when a player drops one visit coming off an official to the other it becomes fairly obvious where they are going. Tuesday one of the nation’s premier wings Findlay Prep (NV) Kelly Oubre announced his decision to attend Kansas.
The strong and physical wing is a plus plus shooter and a scoring machine. With his combination of strength, ability to handle the ball, and perimeter shooting he ranks among the top 15 prospects nationally.
This is the Jayhawks first commitment in the class of 2014. They are also heavily in the mix with five-star posts Cliff Alexander, Jahlil Okafor, and Myles Turner. Oubre chose Kansas over Kentucky.
While running with Houston Hoops in the Nike EYBL he averaged 16.1 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.2 steals while leading them to a 16-2 record in the regular season.
Oubre announced his decision on Twitter.
Blessed to say that I have Committed to Kansas University !! #RockChalk
