6'8 Tai Odiase A 2014 To Watch

Homewood-Flossmoor has an extremely talented roster including a strong group of senior starters.  One prospect to watch on this team is 6’8” junior power forward Tai Odiase.

The junior is a long and angular athlete that is extremely active.  He uses his length well on both ends of the floor.  In the post he has fundamentally sound post moves and a soft touch.  He also gets points by running the floor consistently beating his man down to the other end.  On the defensive end he cleans up on the glass and is a solid shot-blocker.

He showed tremendous upside coming off the bench for HF at the Proviso West Holiday Tournament where he went for 14 points and 8 rebounds in their opener.  We spoke with the junior about how the first half of the season has gone.

“Season for me is going pretty well.  We have a lot of seniors on the team so as a junior I am picking up a pretty big role on this team.”

The junior spoke about his game.

“My game is running the floor, getting every rebound I can, and working hard on offense.  Doing everything I can to help get my team the win.”

Odiase mentioned some of the schools he has heard from.

“Illinois St , UIC, SIU, Western Illinois, and Western Kentucky .”

Look for his recruitment to continue to pick up throughout the season.
