Jalen Brunson Talks Game, Recruiting

Jalen Brunson of Stevenson High School ranks among the top 2015 basketball prospects in the country.  Brunson, who starred on the travel team circuit with Team NLP, talks about his game and where he stands right now in terms of recruiting.

Talk about how the season is going so far as both a team and an individual?

“As a team our season has started out pretty well without the tough losses at Zion Benton and Warren, but we have been playing really tough and we have a lot of heart. Our team defense is coming together each game and our chemistry has grown a lot with a lot of new guys in a short period of time.”

“Individually, I think I have started off pretty well, but still have a lot of improvement to do. Offensively and defensively I think I'm growing as a player and also my leadership is growing as well.”

It’s early but talk about the recruiting process and how it’s going?

“The recruiting process is going great. This fall I visited Indiana, Purdue, and Iowa. They were all great trips and I really enjoyed the visits. The recruiting really goes threw my coaches and my father because I just try focusing on playing basketball right now and trying to help my team as much as I can.”

What specific area’s of your game are you working on right now?

“My defense specifically off the ball and on the ball I still have a lot work to be done in that department. Also, just not being my aggressive on offense.”

What are your strengths and weaknesses of your game?

“Strengths are being able to score off the dribble and spot up, defensive ball pressure on the catch, and being able to help off my man. One of my weaknesses would ball watching on defense.”
