Class of 2014 Benet Academy center Sean O’Mara ranks as one of the top post players in the state of Illinois. Saturday he visited Iowa State to get another look at their program. We spoke with the junior about how it went.
“Watched the shoot around and got in the locker room before and after the game. Coaches did a great job with the players I thought. I like the players a lot too. Both times I spent a good amount of time around them.”
What stands out about the Cyclones program?
“The fans were crazy and exciting. Would love to play in front of a crowd like that each time. They play an exciting up tempo style that uses the posts just as much as the guards. A system I could see myself in. Coach Hoiberg and TJ are great coaches and people as well.”
O’Mara will now shift his focus to a big week of games that includes matchups with 7’1” Nazareth sophomore center Tyler Jackson and 6’11” Whitney Young junior Jahlil Okafor.
