Chatham Glenwood junior shooting guard Peyton Allen had a scorching start to the season. He was putting up monster numbers game in and game out. His shot was on from both mid-range and three point territory. Allen was also running the point for his team displaying an improved handle and perimeter feel. He looked good running the show for his team and setting others up.
His season came to a halt when in January he came down with an illness that would sideline him for over a month. Allen, who has a great joy for playing the game, really missed being on the floor with his team. This past Friday he made his return for Chatham Glenwood.
“It felt amazing getting on the basketball court and playing the game I love. I truly love my teammates and coaches. It feels awesome getting back to what I love to do.”
How is Allen feeling now?
“Pretty good. The medicine I’m on still is slowing me down, but it’s getting better each week.”
The junior discussed what he is looking forward to the rest of the season.
“Regionals and just finishing out the year with my team.”
Allen plays on the travel team circuit with the Southwest Illinois Jets and has received interest and offers from a variety of mid-major and high-major programs.
