ChicagoHoops and Hoops247 was one of a select few media outlets that were allowed to be in attendance for the prestigious Nike Elite 100 Camp all week. In this report we take a look at the top 2015 shooting guards that were at the camp. Note: Heights were measured at the camp without shoes.
Eric Davis, 6’2”, shooting guard (Arthur Hill HS, MI)
Davis is an elite scorer that can beat a defense in so many ways. He has a quick first step and great acceleration getting past his man. The rising junior attacks the basket with reckless abandon and is willing to take a bump to get to the free throw line. He is also a plus jump shooter especially from mid-range. Many see him making strides toward being a combo guard at the next level and he showed improvement as a passer. When he had a small defender on him he would take him to the post and score on the block. Defensively he has a chance to be very good with his quickness and aggressive nature.
Austin Grandstaff, 6’4”, shooting guard (Rockwall HS, TX)
Grandstaff had a big camp! He displayed his plus plus shooting ability consistently getting his jumper off anywhere he wanted on the floor. His floater was working and the rising junior finished with quick buckets around the hoop before the defender could get there. Grandstaff moves great without the ball. One of the camps top performers.
Franklin Howard, 6’4”, shooting guard (Paul VI Catholic, MD)
This 6’4” wing had a big day two in St. Louis . He is a smooth operator on the perimeter that gets to the basket with ease. His three point stroke is free and easy. Howard had one stretch where he went for 11 points in less than two minutes.
Antonio Blakeney, 6’2”, shooting guard (Oak Ridge HS, FL)
The guard out of the state of Florida is super athletic and assertive attacking the hoop. He has a plus handle and was relentless beating his man to the paint in one game I witnessed. Blakeney also showed he could shoot it effectively from both mid-range and three point land. He rebounds well for his size and should be a good defender with his athletic gifts.
Allonzo Trier, 6’4”, combo guard ( Noah Home School, OK )
This scoring combo guard flat out gets buckets. He is quick off the dribble consistently getting by his man and finishes around the hoop. Trier is also a good scorer that can shoot it well from the perimeter especially when he gets going. He is fast with the ball in his hands and his strength allows him to keep opponents away.
Prince Ali, 6’2”, shooting guard (Pembroke Pines HS, FL)
Ali is a guard with long arms and plus handles. He displayed a quick first step getting in the lane and had a couple nice passes as well. This athletic guard has upside.
Matt McQuaid, 6’3”, shooting guard (Duncanville HS, TX)
This 2015 guard is an elite shooter that can get his shot off from anywhere with a quick release. McQuaid shoots it in the catch and shoot as well as off the bounce. He does a good job of setting up his man and creating space to get it off. His handles continue to improve and he is a solid passer.

ChicagoHoops and Hoops 247 was one of a select few media outlets that were allowed to be in attendance for the prestigious Nike Elite 100 Camp all week. In this report we take a look at some of the top 2016 prospects that were at the camp. Note: Heights were measured at the camp without shoes.
Thon Maker, 7’0”, power forward (Carlisle School HS, VA)
This young prospect had the most hype coming into the camp and it is well warranted. The athletic big man can do a variety of things on the floor. The one that stands out the most might be the way he can handle the ball for a seven-footer. It is completely ridiculous! Maker was going through ball handling drills looking like a shooting guard. He also showed it bringing the ball up in transition several times. In the post he displayed skill including quick and aggressive post moves. His most impressive was a baseline spin where he went underneath the hoop to dunk it on the other side. He will need to add more strength as he is thin at only 191 pounds and had the ball ripped away from him several times. Maker ran the floor unbelievably well in transition. On the defensive end he is a plus shot blocker and a solid rebounder which should improve even more with added strength. One of the best prospects at the camp especially long term.
Braxton Blackwell, 6’6”, shooting guard (Christ Presbyterian HS, TN)
Blackwell is among the more highly sought after 2016 prospects in the nation. The 6’6” wing is strong and athletic. He can really score once he gets going. Blackwell is versatile being able to score is a variety of ways including off the bounce, in transition, and with a reliable jump shot. He is a good team player that will be a winner at the next level.
De ’Aaron Fox, 6’2”, combo guard ( Cypress Lakes HS , TX )
This left handed combo guard leans toward a two, but also has some point guard skills. He has a plus handle and the ability to get in the lane where he has an effective middle game including a floater and 15 foot jumper. Fox is a good passer that has a nice feel for the game and when to look to score or pass. The 2016 guard moves well without the ball.
Caleb Swanigan, 6’7”, center (Homestead HS, IN)
Swanigan is a space eating post that is surprisingly light on his feet for his size. He moves well on both ends of the floor and plays hard. When I saw him he was consistently hitting the glass and gathering rebounds. Offensively Swanigan uses his size to get deep post position and finishes strong through contact.
Alterique Gilbert, 5’10”, point guard (Miller Grove HS, GA)
Gilbert is a quick and shifty point guard that showed toughness. He is a playmaker with the ball in his hands pushing it and making solid decisions. The rising sophomore also showed he could score including a couple of nice jumpers.
Cassius Winston, 6’0”, combo guard (Jesuit HS, MI)
This tough as nails guards was very impressive with his competitiveness and ability to get what he wanted done on a consistent basis. Winston has a plus handle and got to the basket well. He shoots it and hit difficult shots in key situations. Winston is a solid passer that had a good sense for when to score and when to pass. I was also impressed with his ability on the defensive end as he got up in his man and disrupted him from starting the offense.
Dedric Lawson, 6’7”, small forward (Hamilton HS, TN)
Lawson is a prospect that I have been very impressed by. He handles the ball and has a high skill level for his size. The rising sophomore also has a feathery touch from the outside.
Devonte Green, 6’1”, point guard (St. Mary’s HS, NY)
Green was a prospect that really stood out. He is a high IQ point guard that is a solid passer who made sound decisions when running the show. Green also shot the heck out of it especially on day 3. The young guard was an aggressive defender that pressured the ball.

ChicagoHoops and Hoops247 was one of a select few media outlets that were allowed to be in attendance for the prestigious Nike Elite 100 Camp all week. In this report we take a look at part one of the 2015 post prospects that were at the camp. Note: Heights were measured at the camp without shoes.
Moustapha Diagne, 6’7”, power forward (Pope John XXIII HS, NJ)
Diagne might have been the MVP of the camp if there was one. He was a complete beast on the boards grabbing one after another. His energy and activity level on the glass were unmatched at the camp. Diange finishes extremely strong and slams everything. I was also impressed with his ability to seal off his man over and over again before finishing with a dunk. Defensively he was tough around the basket and swatted shots. Huge weekend for this post player.
Skal Labissiere, 6’10”, power forward (Evangelical Christian HS, TN)
Labissiere is among the most skilled post prospects in the nation. He has advanced post moves at a young age with the ability to go over either shoulder, face up, or just power his way to the basket. The junior has a soft touch and shoots a high percentage with his touches. Labissiere is a plus passer out of the post that has a good feel for finding his teammates. Elite 2015 prospect.
Carlton Bragg, 6’7”, combo forward (Villa Angela – St. Joseph HS, OH)
Bragg is a physically imposing forward that can operate out of either the post or on the perimeter. His combination of strength and athleticism at his size make him a matchup nightmare. Bragg’s 15-18 foot jumper was falling for him from both the wing and baseline. He also had several powerful dunks throughout the camp. Bragg is a top 25 prospect nationally in 2015.
Chris Silva, 6’8”, power forward (Roselle Catholic HS, NJ)
Silva was the talk of the camp early on. The 6’8” 206 pound power forward has a strong and athletic body. He showed he is super bouncy around the basket finishing with monster dunk after monster dunk. Silva was assertive finishing on the glass where he put up big numbers. Prospect with considerable upside.
Noah Dickerson, 6’8”, power forward (North Atlanta HS, GA)
Dickerson is a big-bodied post that is a quality low post defender. He plays hard and has a motor. Dickerson is a space eater in the paint that rebounds well. Offensively he powers his way through his opponent.

Jarvis Johnson, 6’0”, point guard (De La Salle HS, MN)
Johnson is a tough point guard that has wiry strength. He handles the ball well with a quick first step to get by his man with speed. When he wanted to get to the basket the Minnesota native did! His shot was pretty effective as well as he consistently knocked down jump shots.
Sedrick Barefield, 6’0”, point guard (Corona Centennial HS, CA)
Barefiled was a pass first point guard while at the camp that was strong with the ball and looked to set others up. He got in the lane well.
Justin Jenifer, 5’10”, point guard (Milford Mill, MD)
Jenifer was one of the rare pass first point guards at the camp. He looked to get all of his teammates going and make good decisions with the ball. Jenifer also shot the ball well when he did pick and chose to score.

ChicagoHoops and Hoops247 was one of a select few media outlets that were allowed to be in attendance for the prestigious Nike Elite 100 Camp all week. In this report we take a look at part two of the 2015 post prospects that were at the camp. Note: Heights were measured at the camp without shoes.
Trevor Manuel, 6’9”, power forward (Lansing Sexton HS, MI)
This skilled 6’9” post stayed mostly out on the perimeter last year at this camp. This year although he is still relatively thin Manuel mixed it up more on the interior. The long and athletic four man was more assertive down low and even had a couple nice dunks in traffic. Will need to still add some more mass to play down low in college, but has tremendous tools.
Chimezi Metu, 6’9”, power forward (Lawndale HS, CA)
This long four man was impressive with the Oakland Soliders in the EYBL during the spring. He is long and athletic post that is all upside. Metu is a bit raw offensively and needs to add some weight, but he looks like he will continue to make strides in this area. He did knock down several 10-15 foot jumpers from the baseline. Defensively he is a plus shot blocker and a solid rebounder that will get better with added strength.
Jimbo Lull, 6’10”, center (Rolling Hills HS, CA)
Lull is a big and strong kid at 6’10” 242 pounds. He is a decent area rebounder. The rising junior is a bit limited athletically and needs to improve his hands down low. Project big, but can’t teach his size!
Jeremy Miller, 6’9”, center (New Hampton School , NJ)
Miller is a long and athletic post that is a good shot blocker and defender in the paint. He makes it a point to hit the glass and grab rebounds. Offensively Miller showed a glimce of an improving face up game. He also runs the floor like a deer getting points in transition.
Brad Brechting, 6’10”, center (Cedar Springs HS, MI)
The Michigan native is a skilled post that showed a nice hook shot and solid low post moves. He struggled a bit against bigger bodied defenders that pushed the thin center around.
Horace Spencer, 6’7”, power forward (William Tennent HS, PA)
Spencer is a wide shouldered and strong four man that is a plus rebounder. He was aggressive on the glass throughout the camp, but didn’t bring much offensively other than a couple slams in transition.
